I have spent over 20 years living and learning around the world, in places where languages, cultures, and ways of thinking intersect in meaningful ways, where diversity is celebrated, and where local ways of life help shape our individuality and sense of self. Learning is not simply about delivering content and aligning standards. It is about igniting wonder, sparking joy, and empowering knowledge through meaningful experiences. Great learning cultivates thinking that invites us to question, metacognize, and deepen our understanding of the world we live in.
At the heart of my work is the belief that learning should motivate and empower the individual. Whether engaging with younger learners or collaborating with colleagues around the world, I have found that the most powerful learning happens when curiosity is encouraged, thinking is challenged, and learners are supported in seeing themselves as capable and agentic
Beyond my work in learning experience design, I am drawn to creative, long term projects. My husband and I are gradually turning our home in South Carolina into a small homestead with a focus on sustainability, including reintroducing native plants and supporting local pollinators. Our lives are shared with well loved rescue pets from different places, and in my free time I enjoy self taught upcycling projects with fantasy themes, where imagination and making meet.
